What do we remember today to Abeid Amani Karume, the president and hero of Zanzibar Island? The date of 12 January, 1964 Karume brought high revolution from Arab imperialists under Sultan Seyyid Baraghash in Zanzibar. Karume emphasized unit, peace, love and respect among people of Zanzibar (The indigenous).
Karume
united together people of Zanzibar and he was against of tribalism, religious
faith and racism to his people. He was a man of the people and critical leader.
He brought a lot of changes in Zanzibar by building quality infrastructures and
providing good social services such as schools, water supplies, hospitals,
roads, transport and electricity to his people. Karume also was the one who hated corruption. He
was based on truth, fair decision and rights in high spirit.
