Africa is enriched with many resources but yet poor in development. This poverty is caused by many factors as follows:

Corruption and poor governance, the public officers are not working for the benefit of majority and instead the public fund is used by individual. Example, because of corrupt leaders certain tenders are being given to un competent tender takers, leading to bad performance of the work.
Limited employment opportunities, No new job opportunities where by majority of Africans ending jobless, hence no alternative way of living.
Civil wars and unending political instabilities, also causes the poverty due to the fact that people fails to settle and engage in productive activities. Example is in countries like Somalia, Sudan. People keeps on fighting instead of engage in production.
Poor IMF and WORLD BANK policies, where by the loan giving conditions are most restrictive and are placed for their own interest and benefits, they don’t intend to develop undeveloped countries. Example, the requirement to reduce total government spending affects other social sectors like education, health, infrastructures e.t.c.
Diseases and poor hearth facilities, where by young men get killed of different diseases like malaria, aids and others tropical diseases leading to the slow of man power, entrepreneurship hence affecting the force of production.
Natural and manmade catastrophes, Example flood, drought, wars. These lead to famine and hunger hence people have no way to settle in day to day life.
Improper utilization of natural recourses, like water, minerals, forest, soil. This causes poverty among African countries due to poor Government management.
