Strength and opportunity are the two main terms that are mostly confused by practitioners and executives in a corporate world. In fact the term opportunity is simply a chance that a person acquire, it can be a new job, an employment opportunity a political sit or any other chance that a person can be given. On the other hand the term strength is that capacity or power of doing something, the ability to fulfill the expectations the goals or the vision of the company or government policies. What actually start is acquiring an opportunity and the next step is to demonstrate your strengths; using the skills, knowledge and ability to utilize the resources related to the acquired opportunity in the attainment of the desired goals.
Today my focus is on Tanzanian political leaders and other civil servants in the government, are they using the opportunities they have to demonstrate their strengths?. This is the question that we all need to ask, from my point of view political leaders, civil servants and other executives strives much to acquire opportunities, use their money to attain opportunities, vesting their power in securing their opportunities but in actual sense we need to use our strengths because an opportunity is just a formality, every one can acquire an opportunity it is like a jacket that one can put on and letter it can be taken off, there is no need of vesting much of our energy securing opportunity. The strengths, the ability, the skills and knowledge can ensure and secure our opportunities. The rapid increase of corrupt leaders, poor leadership, lack of fulfillment of plans and poor social services in the government, are the manifestation of leaders who are focused in opportunities rather than demonstrating their strength in the opportunity that they have.
My call to all Tanzanian political leaders and other civil servants in the government is to use their opportunities in demonstrating their strength by using their skills, knowledge and ability to utilize resources related to their opportunities as an opportunity is a mask and strength is a way to reveal its true face.
