Digital revolution is the revolution that entails the revolution in form of texts, sounds and object moving, it can be presented in a binary digit and represented in a way that human being can comprehend. With digital revolution many things have changed as we have seen rapid changes in information system. As one among the characteristic, digital revolution is all about interactivity which is the ability or capacity of new media to incorporate content, computer networks, satellite and communication all these are brought together in a single devise.
But my concern today is not teaching or telling you about digital revolution but rather the future of journalists in Tanzania with new media. You will agree with me that every technology has its pros and cons or advantages and disadvantages, new media has presented a number of advantage in this age including easy ways of accessing information, easy ways of storing large number of information and many other advantages.
One among the taken for granted disadvantage of new media is that, new media is replacing journalism in the fact that there is no news through traditional media such as radio and television today, everything that is being reported in these media is no longer new because people get information in no minute. For instance with what's up one can take a number of snap shots in the event, attaching these photos with texts, now my question is what is the position of traditional media? if through what's up, facebook, instagram, tweeter, imo, viber and many other social networks I can get information as quick as possible. Journalists are losing their jobs.
